Research Interests
natural killer cells, microfluidic model, trophoblasts
As part of my project, I hope to develop an in vitro model of implantation in order to examine the ability of uterine natural keller cells to promote trophoblast invasion. I hope to use the Mimetas OrganoPlate to do this, which is a microfluidic 3D tissue culture plate which enables cells to interact and migrate freely between channels. I will use human trophoblast stem cells (TS) derived from cytotrophoblast cells and blastocysts, using published protocols to maintain the TS cells, and differentiate them into TSC-EVT; initially into 2D cultures and then secondly into 3D cultures
