African Swine Fever virus, Vaccinology, Synthetic biology

I am currently developing ex vivo tissue culture systems to study the host-pathogen interactions induced by African Swine Fever virus. I would like to progress this research into organ-on-a-chip methods to better mimic the physiological conditions in vivo such that we can reduce the use of animals for vaccinology research. Through my research, I hope to develop methods that can also be translated to other diseases of interest in the veterinary field.
