I am developing a microfluidic model of the gut. Current in vitro models of the gut fail to predict the bioavailability of orally delivered drugs and provide little mechanistic insight into intestinal lipid transport. With this in mind, I am to use this model to develop lipoprotein-mimicking drug delivery systems and probe lipoprotein formation on a sub-cellular scale.
