My interest in Organ-on-a-Chip technology focuses on understanding how mechanical stimulation affects cellular behavior within in vitro models. Mechanical strain, a critical yet poorly understood component in organ-chips, influences cell function and drug responses. By elucidating the relationship between mechanical strain and biological response, I aim to enhance the physiological relevance of these models for preclinical drug testing. This research could improve the predictive accuracy of in vitro models, leading to better therapeutic outcomes and a deeper understanding of tissue mechanics in health and disease.
