I am fascinated by microphysiological systems (MPS) and advanced in vitro cultures - future solutions for more animal free research and the 3Rs reaching towards precision medicine. The role of MPS with its cousins organ-on-chip and microfluidics conjures up a bright future where lab-on-chip becomes a practical reality as opposed to contemporary lab-FOR-a-chip systems. Every day brings us a little step closer to realizing the promising potential of these technologies. Particularly the role of these technologies for ADME+Tox and cancer.
