I am a clinical academic developing therapies for untreatable obstetric disease such as preterm birth, fetal growth restricton. I work with engineers to develop novel treatments for preterm rupture of the membranes. A major problem in obstetrics is predicting pregnancy outcome and identifying women at risk of these complications. It is also challenging to develop novel therapies as testing them in pregnant women is complex and animal models of these diseases are unsuitable.
