Launch Event 2018

The network launch event takes place over 6th-7th September 2018:

6th September: Conference Day  (9am–5pm: Imperial College, event linked with BioMedEng18)

  • Network Inaugural lecture - Dr Geraldine Hamilton, President & Chief Scientific Officer, Emulate, Inc.
  • Organs-on-Chips: Creating a Living System to Emulate Human Biology and Disease
  • Open session for organ-on-a-chip, in vitro model and other associated research talks
  • Please submit your abstract to BioMedEng18 by 21st Maywww.biomedeng18.com . Please submit to the Special Session: Organ-on-chip

7th September: Network Activity Day  (10am-4pm: QMUL, Graduate Centre)

  • Funding prioritisation event (please help us define funding priorities for the network)
  • Networking and developing new collaborations
  • Shaping the network and developing community activities

    •10:00-10:30  Introduction to  the OOAC team & network

    •10:30-11:00  Overview of  funding theme for first round of sabbaticals: validation

    •11:00-12:30  Funding priorities: Groups to focus on developing our priorities  for the sabbatical round

    •12:30-13:30  Lunch & networking (posters from BioMedEng18 on show)

    •13:30-14:30  Network priorities: Groups to consider community needs & pathways to achieving these

    •14:30-15:30  Facilitated networking session: finding collaborators & ideas for sabbatical applications

    •15:30-16:00  How to write a sabbatical application proposal for OOAC network funding

Rates and Registration Options

Option 1 - Both Conference/Launch Days (6th and 7th September)

We have special attendance rates for Organ-on-a-Chip Network members to attend both days of the event:

  • £145 early-bird;   £165 regular;   £180 final week   (full members)
  • £115 early-bird;   £135 regular;   £150 final week   (students)

Option 2 - Just the Network Activity Day (7th September only)
