Workshop: Addressing the global rise in antimicrobial resistant infections through lab-on-a-chip technology
Dates: 18-21 November 2019
One of the main reasons for antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is the lack of reliable diagnostic tools to provide the healthcare professionals with insight on whether an antibiotic would be effective or not. Lab-on-Chip diagnostic platforms have the potential be a major technological enabler to close this gap.
The main objectives of this workshop are three-fold:
1. Foster collaborations between UK and Indian researchers in the emerging area of Lab-on-Chip microsystems for AMR confinement
2. Develop innovative solutions that are useful to clinicians and public health workers in India
3. Translate these prototypes to clinics through sustained long-term collaboration with various stakeholders
